The Best Movies Never Made

Tim Burton was very close to start production on his Superman movie. Titled Superman Lives with Nicolas Cage in the lead role and Kevin Smith on scripting duties, the project went as far as test shoots before the studio decided to cancel it due to worries over the budget. The villain, Brainiac, was set to be played by Christopher Walken and the movie would have included a giant alien spider and polar bear guards. Sandra Bullock and Chris Rock were also being eyed to star as Lois Lane and Jim Olsen respectively. It was set to start with Clark Kent in therapy and chart his psychological journey after he discovers he’s an alien. A documentary about the movie was released in 2015.
