Many films undergo a period known as development hell where a project lingers in development due to many different reasons, usually creative differences, prohibiting them from being made. Some unfortunately don’t make it to the other side and end up getting cancelled indefinitely. Here is a thread with a few examples of movies that never ended up happening.
